Focus on the good things, the little things, and the things that we take for granted.
I remember the morning breakfasts that my mother would fix for me, the smell of fried bacon and eggs with home fried potatoes. She was always listening to the radio to one of her favorite radio preachers; Oliver B Greene with “Back to the Bible” or Peter Bissit with “Peter and John’s Broadcast”. She would call me to breakfast, “Tommy, Tommy come on down to breakfast”. She called me so frequent that our parakeet started to call my name.
What smells, or memories, or pictures bring back great memories. Our past helps us to look forward to the future. As we
served the Lord, we sometimes don’t know exactly where we are headed until we look back and see where the Lord has taken us. There are such amazing things that the Lord has accomplished in our life and if we tried to plan them out, we
would fail miserably. We need to let each day happen and be willing to say “Yes”
Lord, here I am, use me. The more we say “Yes”, the sweeter our past will bring about great and joyous memories.
It is only by the grace of God that we get by each day. In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus says;“give us this day”. Be willing to
take this day and enjoy it to the fullest and see if it doesn’t bring back great memories.
Start each day with the Lord and see what happens!
